Located in the beautiful south of France, the Montpellier Cancer Institute (ICM) is at the forefront of patient-centered cancer care.
The Radiology Department boasts a highly skilled team of experts across various subspecialties of oncologic imaging, including body imaging, breast imaging, and musculoskeletal (MSK) imaging. With state-of-the-art CT scanners and MRI machines, the department places a special emphasis on imaging for gynaecological malignancies, peritoneal carcinomatosis, pancreatic cancers, sarcomas, and rectal cancers.
Professor Stéphanie Nougaret, an expert in pelvic imaging, currently serves as the Chair of the Female Pelvis Working Group at the European Society of Urogenital Radiology (ESUR), with a particular focus on pelvic oncology imaging. Her expertise brings a specialiaed lens to complex pelvic malignancies, further enhancing the department’s clinical and research excellence.
The strong collaboration between the Radiology Department and clinical departments such as radiation oncology, surgery, and pathology, ensures an integrated approach to patient care. This synergy fosters groundbreaking research, supported by advanced technologies like the MRIdian system, which has bolstered the relationship between radiology and radiation oncology.
In addition, the PinkCC Lab, led by a visionary in artificial intelligence and radiomics, drives innovation in imaging biomarkers. With access to a 9.4T MRI and a dedicated small animal PET/CT system, the lab pushes the boundaries of translational research, offering fellows an unparalleled opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge advancements in cancer imaging.

*Each candidate is required to submit the provided ESOR CV. Any application with another CV will not be considered.

The successful candidate may be asked to provide additional documentation to ESOR and/or the Training Centre for administrative purposes. It is the Fellow’s responsibility to secure a work permit / visa, insurance, and accommodation. The Training Centre will help the Fellow with administrative and organisational tasks.
Please note:
During 2025/2026 one place will be offered for a recently board-certified radiologist who is a full member of ESR.
You may only apply to one ESOR exchange or training programme at a time.
- This exchange programme applies to European radiologists within the first three years after certification.
- The candidate should wish to become a fellow or subspecialise in oncologic imaging.
- The applicant should be highly motivated and have a track record of research in image analysis in human/ animal projects.
- The candidate must have advanced knowledge of English. Knowledge of French is advantageous, but not required.
- Shortlisted candidates must be available for an online interview.
- Applicants must have valid ESR 2025 membership.
Duration of Fellowship and Funding
The Fellowship will start on November 1, 2025, and will last for 12 months. It is the responsibilty of the Fellow to ensure their availability for this period, as postponement is not possible. The Fellow will receive a grant (€23.000) from the training centre, which will be paid out via ESOR on a monthly basis.
