What to expect
The aim of the ESOR Tutorials is to further the experience of young radiologists, residents in their late years of training and board-certified radiologists, in daily radiological routine through exchange and intense teaching in the Central Asian reference centre. It is aimed at younger radiologists from Central Asian and CIS countries (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Russia)
The ESOR Astana Tutorial 2024 is organized ESOR in cooperation with Dr. Tairkhan B. Dautov, MD, Ph.D., DMSc, Associated Professor, Director of Clinical and Academical Department of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine of “University Medical Center” Corporate Fund, Astana, Kazakhstan, Vice-president of Radiological Society of Kazakhstan.

In 2024, 12 places for radiologists from Central Asia are available.
- The ESOR Astana Tutorial applies to young radiologists, residents in their late years of training and board-certified radiologists within 5 years of certification who desire to get the benefit of intense teaching.
- The ESOR Astana Tutorial is aimed at radiologists from Central Asian countries, applicants must be nationals of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, or Russia.
- Previous exposure in any field of special interest is advantageous.
- Applicants must be fluent in English.
All applicants must provide the following documents as a single PDF file:

Letter of Motivation
explaining personal interest in participating in the tutorial

Proof of resident status (download here) or proof of board certification
Certification must be no more than 5 years old.

Letters of Reccomendation
from the head of department of the current training centre or a previously undertaken academic training

Language Profiency Confirmation
written by the head of department, stating that the applicant is proficient in English.

Please note that the participants must arrange for the flight tickets to and from Astana themselves.
programme structure
For one week participants are offered practical and theoretical knowledge and the opportunity to be integrated in the activities of an academic department of radiology. The tutorial comprises lectures on a variety of topics, covering modern diagnostic and interventional radiology. Mentored hands-on workshops in ultrasound, CT and MRI are also included. Additional exposure to non-interpretory issues of the broader culture of radiology is provided, addressing radiologic education, departmental work-flow, quality assurance or administrative principles and qualities. The whole programme is performed by renowned faculty including local and invited speakers.
