What to expect

Suitable for any ESR member interested in undertaking research, but with a particular focus on those early in their careers. This course aims to present some of the fundamental aspects of radiological research. The course consists of 1 online session of 60 min (5 min introduction, 40 min presentation, 15 min Q&A).

With the advent of quantitative image analysis and acquisition, imaging biomarkers are increasingly investigated and introduced into clinical practice. However, not all so-called imaging biomarkers are actual biomarkers, which has important implications for their use. In this session the definition of a biomarker and the process of biomarker discovery and development are discussed.
