Course informationThe course is aimed at senior residents, board-certified radiologists and fellows interested in abdominal imaging. Diagnostic criteria and challenges, staging principles for imaging and advances in depiction and characterisation of a variety of neoplastic and inflammatory disorders of the abdomen will be presented. Special focus will be given on the applications of the latest imaging techniques available. Renowned European experts will ensure a high-quality teaching programme, combining plenary lectures and interactive workshops in small groups.


Learning objectives
  • to appreciate the potential of advanced imaging, including CT, CEUS and DWI, in the clinical management of neoplastic and inflammatory diseases of the abdomen
  • to review state-of-the-art imaging strategies and criteria available in the detection and characterisation of the most frequent/important abdominal conditions, including abdominal ischemia, acute pancreatitis, cystic lesions of the pancreas, liver tumours and prostate cancer
  • to learn how to respond to different clinical problems concerning accurate staging and defining resectability of GI tract cancer
