ASKLEPIOS Course on
Cardiac Imaging - CT and MR

September 10, 2019; Beijing/China
September 12, 2019; Shanghai/China
Course information
This course is intended for senior residents, subspecialists and recently board-certified radiologists. It is designed to provide an in-depth view into modern application of cardiac imaging in the clinical practice. Recent advances and already established applications in Cardiac Radiology will be presented by a joint faculty consisting of internationally renowned Chinese and European experts. Starting with more general lectures about implementation and optimisation of both coronary CT angiography and cardiac MRI, the use of these modern techniques in different, most relevant clinical conditions will be discussed. The spectrum of clinical scenarios presented during this course will include topics spacing from acute chest pain over typical conditions and findings after treatment up to the differential diagnosis of myocardial diseases and cardiac involvement in type 2 diabetes mellitus. Even latest innovations like the functional assessment of coronary stenosis by means of coronary CT angiography will be addressed. The combination of didactic lectures and interactive case-based discussions guarantees the high educational value of this teaching programme.

Learning objectives
  • to review methodology and clinical aspects of modern cardiac imaging
  • to refresh knowledge about the clinical application of coronary CT angiography in the stable and in the acute patient
  • to be familiar with the latest trends and innovations for functional cardiac CT
  • to refresh knowledge about current best practice indications and integrated imaging techniques for the differentiation of myocardial diseases
  • to understand the value of cardiac MRI in the assessment of cardiac involvement in type 2 diabetes
